Elia Lillo - Kallo

On behalf of network manager Elia, a 150 kV cable was laid beneath the Scheldt by means of directional drilling.

A new HV connection beneath the Scheldt between Lillo and Kallo is designed to prevent black-outs during current shortages in the port.

This required a directional drilling 1,260 m in length and with a diameter of 60 cm. The 150 kV cable runs parallel to the Liefkenshoek tunnel and connects the power grid of the Waasland port with that of the port on the right bank. The work is carried out on behalf of the network manager, Elia.
